Report of the Results Review Committee July 6 2009

USA Wushu Team Trials Jun 20-21, 2009 Cupertino, California
The event was organized by Li's Wushu Academy under the auspices of USA Wushu-Kungfu Federation (USAWKF), and the Tournament Director was Li Shudong.
The new rules of the 2009 USA Wushu Team Trials are established to pick the highest scoring athletes in each of the Five Categories, 1) Changquan, 2) Daoshu and Gunshu, 3) Jianshu and Qiangshu, 4) Nanquan, Nandao and Nangun, and 5) Taijiquan and Taijijian, to make up the USA Teams A, B, and C. In addition, to qualify for Team A placement, the average score of the category must not be below 8.8.
Because some errors were found in the first announcement of the selections for Teams A, B, and C, and subsequent corrections caused confusion, the Results Review Committee was formed to review the results.
The Review Committee compiled the rankings of each athlete under each category of the male and female divisions, based on the scores of the individual events published in the Team Trials' official website. Applying the criteria set forth by the selection rules*, it is the finding of the Review Committee that the following are the members of the USA Teams A, B and C.

**Advanced to Team A Nanquan slot, by virtue of having the highest scores of the Team B members. (The Nanquan slot was left empty because the first place finisher did not meet the average minimum score of 8.8.) The Review Committee wishes to note and commend Claudine Tran for her outstanding performance, which meets the standards of Team A placement. However, based on the new rules to diversify representations in the various categories, she was not included in Team A.
*The rules include the following provision:
“The USAWKF reserves the discretionary right to make final decisions on team composition (including changes) in the best interest of US representation at the 10th World Championships in Canada.”
