Below are updates for the upcoming 2010 USAWKF Nationals and National Junior Taolu Team Trials: 1. Registration Deadline Extended to June 30th: USAWKF will extend the discounted registration deadline to June 30th, An extra $30 late fee will be charged for registrations from June 30th to July 6th. 2. The competition includes Traditional Wushu, Contemporary Wushu, Group, Team Total Score & individual All-Around. There will be no beginning, intermediate and advance levels; however, a few age groups are added. The first 8 top athletes will receive Award Certificates.
3. Athletes compete in Team Trials are allowed to compete in the National Championships as well. Junior Wushu Team Trials will be held on Saturday, July 17th and 16 years old or under events in Nationals will take place on Sunday. This allows our competitors the opportunity to participate in both the Junior Trials and the Nationals and the international events. 4. The National Wushu Team Total Score is added to this year's national competition. Every group that has more than 15 people may participate in the Team Total Score.
5. International Competition Taolu Training Courses provided by USAWKF In a effort to improve the technical level of our young athletes, USAWKF will be offering training courses during the 2010 USAWKF Nationals prior to the USA Junior Trials. Participants will learn rules for international competition as established by IWUF.
Time: July 6 - July 15 (10 days), 3 hours in the morning, 3 hours in the afternoon, total 60 hours of training courses.
Place: 10268 Bandley Drive suite 107 Cupertino, California
Course Content: 1) A systematic teaching and training of requirements for international wushu tournaments including the comprehensive rules for the first and second set of international competition taolu forms as well as international taolu elementary form. 2) All Nandu Movements, and Optional Taolu. Course Leader: Master Li Shu-Dong Coaches: Jiang Bang Jun, producer of the international taolu videos, former China National and World wushu champion. Zhao, Qing Jian, Current China National and World wushu champion. Ding Wei, former China National and Asia wushu champion. Fees: one day drop in is $130 half day Course (only afternoon) $550 10 days course $800 for Members of USAWKF, $1000 for Non-Member. Room & Board Service (optional): $100/day per person if service is requested by participant.

6. USAWKF Coach & Judge Training Course This course provides an excellent opportunity for you to: i) Expand your knowledge about judging rules to prepare for national level Wushu events. ii) Enhance your technical knowledge in judging. iii) Become a certified USAWKF national level Wushu Judge.
Judge Course Schedule: July 13-15, 2010 (Location TBD) Time:Morning 9:00am-12:00 pm, Evening 7:00pm-10:00 pm
Fees: The cost for the training course is $480 per person, with an additional $180 for class materials and the certificate. Food and lodging are not included.

9. The World of Masters and Athletes-Advertising opportunities In the 2010 Championship program book, masters who will perform at the Master Demo will be introduced. A special section of the program book named "The World of Masters and Athletes" is available for those who would like to introduce the Masters you like, a write-up of a good athlete story, or a good wushu article. These pages will be charged the same price as the advertisement pages. Interested parties please email your article and photos to the Organizer.
9. The World of Masters and Athletes In the 2010 Championship program book, we will introduce some masters who will perform at the Master Demo. Also we reserve some pages called “The World of Masters and Athletes". In these special pages, you may introduce the Masters you like, or describe the Athletes story. You may present yourself and express your understanding on Wushu, etc. These special pages will be charged the same price as the advertisement pages.
